Zapf Centennial Symposium

International panel discussion held in connection with the exhibition "Alphabet Magic: A Centennial Exhibition of the Work of Hermann & Gudrun Zapf" (February 20 - April 27, 2019). Reception follows. No charge, but reservations should be made through Maev Brennan at the Club: [email protected].

Speakers will include Robert Bringhurst (Vancouver, BC), poet, typographer and linguist; David Pankow (Rochester, NY), Curator Emeritus of RIT's Cary Graphic Arts Collection; Ferdinand Ulrich (Germany), typographer, writer, educator, occasional type designer, and PhD student at University of Reading; and Julian Waters (Gettysburg, PA), lettering designer, and international teacher and lecturer.

Co-sponsored by the Grolier Club Committees on Modern Fine Printing and Public Exhibitions, the American Printing History Association-New York Chapter, the Center for Book Arts, the Society of Scribes, the Type Directors Club, the Typophiles, and the Rochester Institute of Technology's Cary Graphic Arts Collection.
