Biographical/Historical Note:
The Grolier Club was established on January 23, 1884 by a group of nine New York City bibliophiles who had gathered with the idea of founding a club devoted to “literary study and promotion of the arts pertaining to the production of books.” The Club is governed by a Council, with elected officers including a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Activities are overseen by various Committees, including Committees on the Library, Publications, Exhibitions, Special Functions, House, Modern Fine Printing, Finance, Admissions, and Prints, Drawings, and Photographs.

Minutes, correspondence, financial records, reports, printed ephemera and clippings documenting activities of the Grolier Club. The records are described more fully in series-level finding aids. Finding aids will be added as series are processed.
