Thomas Bird Mosher, a native of Maine, devoted himself to printing beautiful books at low cost in small, inexpensive formats. He selected works which, in his opinion, represented the best of their era and country, and he issued over 500 titles before his death in 1923. Subsequent trade editions were confined to reprintings of earlier Mosher titles, and subsidized printings soon reflected the lack of Mosher’s personal influence.
All lists in original paper wrappers; titles within ornamental borders.
Volume numbers assigned by cataloger.
Lists issued from 1894 to 1923 receive full bibliographical descriptions in A Checklist of the Publications of Thomas Bird Mosher, by Benton L. Hatch (Gehenna Press, 1966).
Grolier Club Library has duplicate copies of lists for 1907, 1909, 1912 and 1913 separately cataloged.
