Biographical/Historical Note:
Daniel J. and Katharine Kyes Leab are the founders of American Book Prices Current, and act as Publisher and Editor, respectively. American Book Prices Current is a database that maintains information about prices of books sold at auction. Daniel J. Leab is a Grolier Club member.

Scope and Contents:
This collection consists of catalogs, newsletters, magazines, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, photocopies, microfilms, correspondence, and other documents relating to book auction sales. In addition, there is material collected for proposed publication on book auction prices that was never realized. The collection also includes runs of several catalogues, including: Swann Galleries' The Trumpet, Spring 1986 (vol. 1, no. 1)-2005 (vol. 19, no. 2) (Box 1); PBA Galleries' Pacific Currents, June 1992-Fall 2001 (Box 2); Auction Forum USA (Box 2), Mar. 1989-June 1991; California Book Auction newsletter, Apr. 1986-June 1992 (Box 3). The collection also includes a copy of The Auction Companion, by Daniel J. and Katharine Kyes Leab (New York: Harper & Row, c1981).
