Biographical/Historical Note:
Robert H. Taylor (1908-1985), twenty-sixth President of the Grolier Club, was a collector of English and American literature. While a student at Princeton, Taylor discovered and began collecting Anthony Trollope, eventually assembling a fine Trollope collection. His collection was also notable for its association copies, major English poets, and a few “out of scope” treasures such as a Gutenberg Bible and a first edition of Champ Fleury (1529). He joined the Grolier Club in 1946 and served on the Council from 1954 until 1975. He was Secretary from 1957-1962, Vice-President from 1963-1972, and President from 1973-1974 while also serving on numerous committees. His collections are now held at the Princeton University Library. [1]
Items in Box 1, Folders 2-3 were reformatted from cassette to CD through Adopt-a-Book 2015 with the generosity of Robert J. Ruben.
