Visiting the Grolier Club

The Grolier Club exhibitions are open to the public, free of charge.

Hours:
Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED

Please consult our calendar for holiday closures or periodic gallery closures for private events. 

  • Directions
    • The Grolier Club is located at 47 East 60th Street, New York City (between Park and Madison Avenues). The closest subway stops are at Fifth Avenue/60th Street (N, R & W trains), at 59th Street/Lexington Avenue (4, 5, and 6 trains and N, R & W trains; exit north end of the station, at 60th Street); and at 63rd Street/Lexington Avenue (F & Q trains); buses stop at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 60th Street.

  • Accessibility
    • Our building and its programs are accessible to people using wheelchairs and mobility aids. An ADA-compliant lift from street level to the lobby is available. All desk staff are ready and able to assist visitors in operating the lift, with or without advance notice. Inside the Club, galleries are accessible via elevator or stairs. There are accessible restrooms located on the Basement Level via elevator or stairs.

      A “T-Coil” assisted listening system is available to anyone attending a lecture in the Exhibition Hall. Visitors with hearing aids should turn their devices to the “T” setting in order to access the system; visitors without hearing aids may request a “loop receiver” with earphones.

      Large print labels for both of our galleries are available at the Front Desk or via the webpage for each current exhibition. There are chairs available in each gallery.

  • Tours and Group Visits
    • Exhibition curators regularly offer free guided public tours of our exhibitions. 
      Occasional tours of the Clubhouse, including areas not normally accessible to the public, are offered from time to time.  
      Reservations are required for all tours, and attendance is limited. For all public Grolier Club events, including upcoming exhibition and Clubhouse tour dates, and to make reservations, please visit the Grolier Club's Eventbrite page.

  • Visitor Guidelines
    • Complimentary coat and bag check is available. Non-flash photography is permitted. Visitors may not use cell phones throughout the building. No eating or drinking is permitted. All umbrellas must be checked unless they are contained within an admissibly sized bag.
