Historical/Biographical Note
Waters S. Davis was a Grolier Club member from 1932 until his death in 1940. During the period ca. 1928-1938, he made several collecting trips to France in search of French booksellers and auction house catalogs. He donated many of the catalogs represented in his lists to the Grolier Club library during his lifetime. According to Davis’ wishes, the remainder was given by his estate to the Club after his death.
